The classes, site, and blog share the same name, Communicating Culture, but it's more than just a funky, alliterative title. It's a way of traveling and experiencing the world that empowers the fun-loving tourists we commonly are to become the observant, respectful world travelers we should be.

It involves a conscious effort to approach each new world we enter with an open mind and an open heart, to take the time to listen intently, to educate ourselves rather than assuming, and seek to understand the unseen forces that make the lives and experiences of others unique from our own.

Only when we approach traveling in this way do we have the opportunity to convey more than just the superficial sheen of an area; we can communicate their culture as well.
